By Road
To get to Fota Island take the N25 east from Cork City for about 7km and then exit the N25 heading for Cobh/Carrigtwohill on the R624. Fota Island is approximately 2.5km on the right. Parking is a short walk from Fota House and costs €3.00.
By Rail
Why not leave the car at home and enjoy the short train journey from Cork city to Fota Island? Fota House, Arboretum and Gardens is a pleasant fifteen minute walk from the Fota train station (three stops) or a taxi ride from Cobh station. The train connects to inter-city trains to Dublin and train timetables can be found online on the Irish Rail website www.irishrail.ie.
By Ferry
If you have arrived in Cork by ferry to Ringaskiddy you can shorten your route to Fota House considerably by taking the cross river ferry from Glenbrook to Carrigaloe.
By Air
From the airport take the Jack Lynch tunnel to avoid the city centre and arrive on Fota Island in fifteen minutes. See above directions by road.
