September
Orienteering at Fota House & Gardens
Tuesday 14th September 5.30 pm
Cork Orienteering Club Autumn League third round takes place at Fota House & Gardens on Tuesday 14th September.
Orienteering is the sport of 'cunning running' - navigating around an area and locating markers, with the aid of a map. The aim is to visit all the markers, in order, in the shortest time possible. There will be two courses on offer - a short course of approximately 2 km that is suitable for beginners/juniors/families, and a slightly longer course for people who have orienteered before. Walk, jog, run or sprint, this event is guaranteed fun for people of all ages, who will be using the new map of Fota House and Gardens for the first time. To join in the fun, register in the car park any time between 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm. Please let us know if you intend to bring a large group - contact e-mail corko@orienteering.ie or visit www.corko.net.
Adults €5 / Juniors €3 / Family €10. If competitors don't have an SI Card (an electronic tag used in the competition) cards can be hired for €2.
