Shirley Valentine was first performed at Liverpool Everyman Theatre in 1986. The story, both moving and funny, of the middle aged housewife escaping her domestic prison and embarking on a transforming holiday to Greece was an instant success.

Playing Shirley in the New Theatre production is Liverpudlian Nicola Hollinshead who made her professional debut at the famous Liverpool Everyman Theatre and has worked with Ken Campbell, Jimmy McGovern and Julie Walters.

This is the first time that professional live theatre will be staged in Fota House and Fota Trust is delighted to welcome Nicola Hollinshead and The New Theatre, Dublin.

Produced by Ronan Wilmot, of “The Tailor and Ansty” fame, this is a show not to be missed and bookings are already extremely heavy.
