On Saturday, 8th, Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th December, 2007, at 8.00 p.m., Fota House International Concert Series proudly presents an evening of Carols entitled “A Christmas Gift of Music” featuring the Carrigaline Singers. Following the success of last year’s two night concert, “Carols by Candlelight”, when the waiting list for tickets exceeded the number who attended, and both evenings ended with a standing ovation and calls for “more, more”, this year the Carrigaline Singers have kindly agreed to extend their performance by an extra night.
The Carrigaline Singers, with their Musical Director Mary O’Brien, are one of the most prestigious choirs in Munster having toured extensively in America and sung Mozart’s Requiem at the Albert Hall in London in May 2006. They were also awarded a Bronze Medal at the International Choral Festival in Riva del Garda in Italy in October 2005 and sang at the V & A Waterfront Amphitheatre in Cape Town last January. The Choir hopes to represent Ireland at the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria next July.
Fota House, which will also host Santa in his Magic Kingdom from Saturday, 8th December to Sunday 23rd December, will be decorated for the occasion with a myriad of fairy lights decorating over twenty five real Christmas trees with their unique and aromatic scent.
This promises to be an outstanding evening and complimentary wine and mince pies will be served at the Interval. As bookings are already very heavy, please book early to avoid disappointment.
