At the beginning of April, Fota House International Concert Series provides two opportunities to hear some of Cork’s finest young musicians in an idyllic setting.
On Saturday, 5th April, Amy Prendergast, Recorders and Mary Mulcahy, Soprano, supported by James Taylor, Harpischord and Conor O’Connell, Recorders, will give a Lunchtime Recital of Eighteenth Century Cantatas.
Starting at 12.30, the recital will be followed by Lunch in Fota House. Amy Prendergast was the recipient of the Douglas Gunn Recorder Award 2006 and is currently enrolled in the Master’s Programme in Performance as well as teaching recorder and drama in the Cork School of Music. Mary Mulcahy has performed extensively throughout Ireland and Europe giving song recitals of music from a variety of genres and styles. James Taylor and Conor O’Connell are members of the extremely popular Baroque Ensemble ‘Beyond the Pale’.
