Spend a ‘Heavenly’ Evening at Fota House
on Thursday, 22nd May at 8.00 p.m.
On Thursday, 22nd May, 2008, Gerald Peregrine, one of Ireland’s leading young musicians, will give a concert at Fota House as part of a tour to promote his first commercial CD ‘Heavenly’.
Gerard, the youngest member of a well known Irish musical family, began studying violin at the age of three but quickly fell in love with the cello and started cello lessons at the age of six.
Since completing his studies at leading music conservatoires in London and Indiana (as a prestigious Fulbright scholar) Gerald has been performing as a soloist and chamber musician both at home and abroad. Highlights have included performances at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival as well as recitals in France, London, Portugal, Spain, Italy and around Ireland.
He has made many broadcasts for RTE and BBC radio and is a member of Camerata Ireland, performing extensively in Europe and America. Gerald has made several concerto performances with the RTE NSO and the RTE Concert Orchestra. In 2003, Gerald gave the prestigious NCH debut recital to critical acclaim.
He is a Music Network Artist and also plays with the well-known trio ‘Ensemble Avalon’. He is Artist in Residence at Limerick University and is section leader of the Orchestra of the National Concert Hall.
2007 saw the release of his first commercial CD ‘Heavenly’, a collection of popular jazz standards. For all music lovers, this is an evening not to be missed.
