Clodagh McKenna's Food Fair at Fota

Every Second Sunday starting Easter Sunday
Time: 11am to 5pm

Farmers Market
over 20 food stalls selling delicious pates, fresh breads,
smoked fish, juices, chocolates and much more! Also
fantastic food to eat at the market - crepes, bbq'd sausages,
fresh smoothies and great coffee.

Cookery Demonstrations
Demonstrations will begin on 28th May with guest chef Martin Shannahan from Fishy Fishy Restaurant in Kinsale and a wine matching with Michelle Syron of Searsons wines. More information and prices will be posted on the website asap. Please contact Clodagh McKenna for bookings 087 797 1776.

Directions to Fota

By Road

Fota House (in county Cork, Ireland) is situated on Fota Island which is 10km east of Cork City. To get to Fota Island take the N25 east from Cork City for about 7km and then exit the N25 heading for Cobh/Carrigtwohill on the R624. Fota Island is atbout 2.5km on the right.

By Rail

Fota Island has it's own train station and a regular train service. The train journey from Cork takes only fifteen minutes. The train connects to Inter-City trains to Dublin and train timetables can be found online on www.irishrail.ie

Concert by Trinity Gospel Choir

Outdoor Concert by Trinity Gospel Choir

The Choir, who had two sell-out concerts at Fota House before Christmas, makes a welcome return to Fota and will play on the lawn behind the house in front of the Arboretum and the newly restored Orangery. The music will be varied to suit all tastes and include a huge selection of music from the popular repertoire of the Trinity Gospel Choir including Gospel, Rock and Ballads.

The extensive lawns, which slope down from the Orangery to Fota House, will make a perfect natural auditorium and a sophisticated sound system will ensure that even those who are some distance from the stage will be able to hear clearly.

People are encouraged to bring their own picnics and rugs but for those who wish to buy food, a limited selection of hot dogs and snacks will be on sale.

This is an early summer evening, in an idyllic setting, not to be missed.
Book early to avoid disappointment. Only ticket holders will be admitted.

John O'Conor, Piano Concert

John O'Conor is preforming in Fota House

On Thursday 15th June at 8p.m.

John O'Conor's second Festival recital brings him to Fota House and like his programme in No. 6 Kildare Street will demonstrate his masterful interpretations of the classic and early romantic repertoires. It was his complete Beethoven Sonata cycle for the Telarc label, which brought him widespread attention and acclaim in the United States in 1986. The CD Review described his performances as "piano recording of the highest calibre and Beethoven playing at its best".

John O'Conor holds honorary doctorates from the National University of Ireland and Trinity College, Dublin.
