The Fota Fete

A new Annual Event providing fun for all the family

The Fota Fete

Sunday 27th August at 2.00pm

Adults:……………………………… 8 euro
Children(up to 16)&Concessions:…5 euro
No charge for the under 2s.

It’s the last weekend of the Summer Holidays – what better way to spend it than by bringing the entire family to FOTA HOUSE and GARDEN FETE.
Where else could you find such an array of entertainment in such beautiful surroundings? There will be firemen and clowns, puppet-shows and pony rides among many others. The paramedics will be on hand to demonstrate and teach life-saving techniques. Parents and children can take part in 3-legged races and Mums and Dads can compete in horseshoe-throwing.
Live music will be provided by Cork (if not Ireland’s) most popular swing band The Roaring Forties.
For those less inclined to throw themselves into the fray with the children, Fota House and Gardens are deservedly renowned for their beauty and tranquillity and warrant a visit in their own right. Admission to the House and Gardens is included in the entry to the fete.
Refreshments will be available all afternoon.
The event runs from 2pm to 6pm with gates opening at 2. There is a car park and we would ask that everyone abides by the rules.
This is a fun and relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon for all the family and a final celebration of Summer before schools re-open in September.

Adults:……………………………….. 8 euro
Children (up to 16) & Concessions:… 5 euro
No charge for the under 2s.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 27th August at Fota House and Gardens for our 1st Annual FOTA FETE.

Making a welcome return to Fota House on Saturday 2nd September 2006,

is the South American guitar duo, Fernando Lima from Brazil and Cecilia Siquiera originally from Uruguay,

Wherever they have played these outstanding young musicians have been acclaimed by critics.

Achieving many prestigious awards all over the world for their guitar-playing which encompasses classical music and popular Brazilian music. Cecilia and Fernando shared 1st prize at the International Acoustic Guitar Competition held in Brazil in 2001. As a duo, Cecilia and Fernando recorded their first CD, “Tudo ConCorda” in 2002. Also they have taken classes with world-class master guitarists such as David Russell, Fabio Zanon and Henrique Pinto. If you enjoy classical Latin music this is the show you cannot afford to miss!

As their 2005 concert at Fota was fully booked - book early to avoid disappointment.

Critics “What involves us the most is their clear and objective sound, which is like a diamond. Perfect on every side. The musical sense, with all of its interpretative flexibility, has a perfect final touch, during which all the colourful nuances have been worked on. This shows complete knowledge of the instrument and of its real possibilities”.

Henrique Pinto world Master Guitarist.
